What actually is panda update

What actually is panda update(SEO NEWS)

Panda is not a change to the overall algorithm. It is, however, a ranking factor that has been added to the algorithm.
Panda is a ‘filter’ that is designed to identify what Google believes to be ‘low quality pages’. If there are too many low quality pages, the Panda filter effectively flags the site.
At the moment, the ‘Panda filter’ is not running continuously due to the computing power needed to process the analysis. It is therefore run periodically, calculating the values it needs and updating the results.
This means that if a site is flagged by the ‘Panda filter’ then improvements will not be seen until the next scores are assessed. So far, there has been 4 releases all ranging between a 4 and 7 week schedule.

What, Specifically is Panda Targeting?

Google have been very open about the aims and objectives of the update and reading the pain stories that have emerged, it is pretty easy to paint a picture of Panda's main targets.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In summary, the Panda update is designed to:
Reduce spam
Combat sites such as ‘content farms’
Improve scraper detection
Filter low quality content
Close vulnerabilities in its algorithm

The main factors that are being considered, and are clearly important are:
Low quality content
Excessive adverts
Branding
User signals
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Who had been affected by Google Panda

E-commerce sites with poor product pages
Thin affiliate sites
Sites designed to host ‘Ad-sense’ (Advertising)
Article sites with low quality or duplicated content
Price comparison sites with thin content
Travel sites with poor or duplicated reviews
Websites with poor usability and branding
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Solution for Panda Update

Create unique, high quality content – add value to your site!
User signals have always been important but now they’re a ranking factor! A high bounce rate suggests that the result didn't satisfy the search. Why? Evaluate and refine!
Make yourself known! It takes more than a press release to establish yourself as a brand, much more… Engage, make noise, be heard, be cited, build trust!
Diversify your traffic sources – find your community and engage!
Housekeeping – if you have old pages which are weak and add no value, clear them out! Its quality, not quantity!

Get some good KEI(keyword efficiency index) keywords|on page SEO

2.Get some good KEI(keyword efficiency index) keywords

There are many way to getting keywords which have good KEI .we can do manually or by using a tools like Ranktracker and many other.

Manual process is given-

Calculating KEI

This is a very very important step for SEOs. That's the SEO know-how called KEI, or Keyword Efficiency Index. KEI give the actual picture about a keyword’s ability for for bringing traffic to your site.
We always prefer keywords with high KEI.
These are three things to measure KEI
Relevance (R): it is how closely a keywords represent our targeted business  or product o customers.
We categories the keywords in  three groups according to their relevance. And we add a column in sheet.
1 for Excellent
 2 for Good
 3 for Poor
Search Volume (Sv): It give idea about how many queries are made for a keyword per month.
We can check Search Volume for each word or phrase: go to Wordtracker and typing the keyword or phrase in, say free ecard. Wait a while, and along with keyword suggestions, we will  see number of searches per month.

We can use Free Wordtracker Keyword Suggestion Tool
We  can see on this picture, people search for free ecard 11384 times per day, or about 347201 times per month.
We make a column for Search Volume and enter the number of searches values for each phrase.
  • Competition (C): This is  the no. of site that have been althat's how many websites are already more or less optimized for that keyword. Generally, all the web sites that have the same keywords as you are your online competition. And the some websites are optimized for the same keyword, the better KEI this keyword has.
To check the competition is simple. Type  the keyword in Google and click to search. Now look at the image below to see where you find the Competition value:

Google competition for the free ecard keyword
In a separate column for Competition in your spreadsheet, enter values for each keyword.
Here's how your table will look:

Relevance, Search Volume and Competition Values in Excel worksheet
So what makes a KEI better? Higher relevance, higher search volume, and smaller competition.
Now, let's count the magic KEI number for your keywords.
The classical formula for KEI looks like this:

Keyword Efficiency Index formula

KEI=Sv*Sv/C
More accurate form of formula as follow

KEI=(Sv*Sv/C)*(4--R)/3

Keyword Efficiency Index with Relevance
Now make a column for KEI in your Excel spreadsheet and apply the second formula to calculate KEI for each phrase.

Let's choose the best keywords

First, sort all keywords in your spreadsheet by KEI. As I already said, the higher KEI, the better your keywords.
We will  optimize not  keywords to optimize your site for, so look at your list and choose top 5 keywords. Mark them as the major ones (say, color them green.) Then, choose the following 30 and mark them as important (you can color them yellow.) Some more 65 or so keywords should be marked as supplemental (e.g. red.)
We  got a nice list. We will target the green-marked keywords first of all ,then make use of the yellow ones as alternative and mind the red ones just in case.

Types of SEO

White hat SEO

White hat SEO is ethical SEO. It's SEO techniques that search engines accept. White hat SEO techniques are beneficial for site visitors as well as for search engines. The goal of white hat SEO is to improve search engine result positions via methods that won't cause search engines to penalize the site.
there are two parts-
1.On Page Optimisation
2.Off Page Optimisation

Successful white hat SEO is slower than black hat SEO and is an ongoing process.
Examples of white hat SEO techniques
Content

  • Researching relevant keywords
  • Including keywords naturally in page titles, headings, link anchor text, other page
  • content, and alt tags
  • Studying analytics reports and fine-tuning the content to further optimize
  • Adding fresh content regularly
  • Coding
  • Using correct HTML markup
  • Making sure that all the code is valid
  • Creating site maps
  • Using CSS
  • Linking
  • Creating quality content
  • Asking to have directories and other relevant websites link to the site
  • Optimizing pages for social media in the hopes of attracting social media links
  • Arranging for link exchanges with relevant sites (considered by some to be gray hat SEO)
Black hat SEO

Black hat SEO is the use of techniques that are unacceptable to search engines to boost a page's position in search results. These techniques are intended to trick search engines into giving pages higher positions in search results, and they have no benefit to site visitors. The goal is to improve search engine result positions no matter what it takes to do it.

Black hat SEO techniques are used for two reasons:

They work — until search engines find out about them and they don't work

Some people don't understand that black hat SEO techniques can get their sites penalized by or banned from search engines.

Even if search engines can't detect the black hat SEO techniques, competitors of sites that employ black hat SEO techniques can spot them and do report them to search engines.
Examples of black hat SEO techniques
Content

  • Keyword stuffing
  • Deceptive content
  • Doorway or gateway pages
  • Cloaking
  • Linking
  • Link farms
  • Spamming forums, blogs, and other social media sites with links (search engines might not penalize sites for this, but it's considered unethical)

Gray hat SEO

Gray hat SEO is SEO techniques that take more risks than white hat SEO techniques but aren't likely to get your site banned from search engines . They're questionable SEO techniques but not in the same category as black hat SEO techniques. However, what's considered gray hat SEO today might be black hat SEO next year.We can say grey hat seo is the middle level seo.
Examples of gray hat SEO techniques
Content

  • Having a keyword density but less than lack hat seo
  • Publishing duplicate content at different sites
  • Links
  • Link building with less relevant site
  • Using paid links
